Alyssa Wylie

I love art. I’ve been growing up and making a lot of art, and I can be myself and make my own art. I don’t care what anyone else, people, say about me.  

It’s kind of like showing your true colours. And being who you really are when you are an artist. Being an artist makes me feel me, makes me feel like myself, makes me feel like I can do anything I want to do. That’s how I feel when I dance. Dance is kind of like a canvas, actually. You get to paint with your hands, drag them along a canvas, just use your body, just go with it… Use all the different shapes of your body; that’s also like art. 

Make sure you find yourself where you are in life and try to make the best art that you can. Make the most out of it.

Alyssa grew up in Ottawa and has been part of the BEING Studio community since 2019. She loves coming to the studio to see all the other artists, especially her best friend, Lizzy. Alyssa loves making art with Lizzy, and her art is often inspired by some of their favourite TV shows.  

Alyssa is proud of her art and knows that her family is proud of her too. She likes it when her art makes someone go: “Wow! You did that!? Good job, Alyssa! That’s such great work!” 

Alyssa sews and embroiders colourful pillows and fabrics, and she loves using colours and patterns when painting and drawing. She is also a dancer and would like to do more photography and podcasts in the future. BEING Studio is one of her happy places where she gets to make and share her art.
