About the Artist
My name is Analisa Kiskis, and I have been with BEING Studio since 2004, when it was called H’Art of Ottawa. I paint and draw and create text art.
Being an artist comes from the inside and I feel it through all my senses. When I make art, it feels like fireworks coming out of my fingertips. I explore with wonder, and I see myself in the world that I imagine. I put that world on canvas.
I consider myself a professional artist. I love getting paid for creating work that I love. I want to use my art to travel all over the world and see other cultures. New York, Los Angeles, and Mexico City are my main inspirations. I dream of moving to Los Angeles to take art, music, cooking classes and other programming.
I want people to see who I really am inside when they see my work. I am a real person with Down Syndrome. My voice comes through my artwork. Artists with disabilities need a strong voice that says we are who we are. We need the art world and other communities to see our work and that we are where we belong.
