About the Artist
I was in Canada learning to draw, and, by the way, I was so delighted when I saw things on TV, it was really good to recreate them with pens and markers and paper and all of a sudden… WHAM! I’m so good at drawing.
For Anuk, art is not only a fun creative outlet, it also makes him feel happy, peaceful and calm. Anuk has been drawing for as long as he can remember. He is largely inspired by animated characters from TV shows and movies. In his drawings, Anuk will use markers, pencils and paint markers to add colour, dimension and emphasis. One of Anuk’s favourite paintings is Starry Night by Vincent van Gogh, and he explores colour blending and abstractions in his own painted works. In addition to his drawings and paintings, Anuk has created digital drawings since he was 13 years old. He also often transforms his artwork into short videos with original voiceovers.
