Art SPARKS is a BEING Studio community learning series and you're invited. Join us!
What does it mean to desire disability?
How can 'crip culture' create a more just future?
Eliza Chandler will talk about what excites her about disability arts. She will share what she has learned about disability arts and accessibility during the pandemic and how she thinks that 'crip cultural practices,' that is, cultural practices that are led by and centre disabled people, can help to create futures that desire disability.
After each Art SPARKS session, you will be invited to respond to what you learned. Responses will shape the future of BEING Studio.
Art SPARKS is presented by the BEING Board of Directors with support from the Ontario Trillium Foundation's Resilient Communities Fund.
This is a free event! Click here to register. Once registered, you will be emailed the Zoom link for the event.
ASL interpretation and live closed captioning will be provided.
Art SPARKS is an open event for anyone to attend. For the Q&A hosts will be prioritizing questions and comments from artists with disabilities. Thank you for being mindful of this if you are participating as an ally to the space.
