About the Artist
I really do love making art. It makes me feel happy.
Charisse Rayne grew up in Canada. She discovered her love for creating art when she took an art program at Jack Purcell Community Centre in Ottawa. Since then, Charisse has been creating art, and has been at BEING Studio for a long time.
Throughout her art practice, Charisse has experimented with various materials and techniques; her work has featured water colours and inks. In the past few years, Charisse has found her artistic calling in textile art. Her favourite colour of yarn is yellow, but she especially enjoys using multicoloured, textured yarns in her work. Charisse plans to keep making crocheted hats, and to keep experimenting with weaving, braiding, crocheting and collaging textiles to make one-of-a-kind art objects.
