About the Artist

I was born an artist. I came from B.C. to Ottawa. The artists I like are Emily Carr and Jane Cameron. I sketch and draw in my sketchbook like Emily Carr. My paintings are in galleries like Emily Carr’s. I paint landscape, totem poles, skies, gardens, and DAVIDsTEA. I paint how I feel—independent, intelligent. Painting makes me feel happiness and makes me want to dance. I am a writer. I like to work on dreams, weather, feelings, fears, emotions, sleep patterns, dream time.

Jessica grew up in Kelowna, BC and now lives in Ottawa. Jessica likes to paint landscapes and nature. Her work is inspired by her love of gardens and garden work. The beach is where she likes to go. Her paintings of seashells and the beach are calm, confident, and safe. Jessica describes her artist practice like a hot cup of tea. Jessica’s work is in the Centretown Community Health Centre’s permanent collection, and has been featured in many exhibitions around Ottawa.
